Weather

Washington DC/Northern Virginia weather in late November/early December is generally mild winter weather, with high temperatures usually at 48-58°F and lows at 32-40°F.
While rain is much more common at this time of year, ice and snowfall are also possible.

Traffic

Traffic in the northern Virginia and DC Metro areas is quite heavy during rush hours, which run approximately 7-9:30 AM and 3:30-7PM weekdays. Many major arteries have HOV (high occupancy vehicle) lanes which are accessible to vehicles with two or more occupants. It’s helpful to take this into account when planning your arrival and departure. Travelers should also take into account time needed to travel by shuttle from off-site airport rental car locations to/from their arrival/departure terminals, if applicable. While significant snow and ice are uncommon at this time of year, significant ice or snowfall has major impact on area roads and traffic and may result in widespread closure of area offices.
